10 Shows funnier than Arrested Development that had fewer Episodes

For a show loved by a few prominent TV critics that never found an audience, the fact that Arrested Development lasted 52 episodes is amazing. (Almost as amazing as Heather Graham in “Killing Me Softly”, but I digress. NSFW Video)

What’s even more amazing is the endless whining from its fans about the show being cancelled. It’s had its run. Get over it. Here’s my pick for ten shows that had fewer episodes but were funnier. (Do I really need to add IMHO? Okay, I just did.) This should generate more hate mail than a cartoon of Dick Cheney raping Mohammed. Here’s the list:

Police Squad Spoof of Quinn Martin produced police dramas from the 1970’s. (6 episodes) Not on DVD yet.

Get A Life about 30-year old paperboy named Chris Peterson who lived in an apartment above his parents’ garage. Starring Chris Elliott. [35 Episodes] Not on DVD.

The Tick Story of superhero The Tick, based on the popular cartoon. [10 Episodes 1 Unaired] Out on DVD.

Undeclared about freshman students who live in a college dorm at the University of North Eastern California. [18 Episodes] Out on DVD.

George Carlin Show The daily adventures of New York cabdriver who hangs out at a local bar and rants about his theories on government conspiracies and alien visitations. [25 Episodes] Not on DVD.

Stella comedy show that follows the absurdist adventures of Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain. Think the 3 Stooges without all the hitting. [10 Episodes] Not on DVD.

No Soap Radio – Set in a hotel around the manager but the flimsy story was an excuse for a bunch of crazy visual gags and sketches. A cross between Fawlty Towers and Monty Pyton. [13 Episodes made only 5 aired] Not on DVD.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe Andy Richter plays a short story writer, who makes his living by working at a huge faceless company in Chicago. [25 Episodes, 5 Unaired] Not on DVD.

Strangers with Candy 46-year-old ex-drug addict returns to high school as a freshman. Starring Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert [30 Episodes] Out on DVD
